"Statutes clearly say depositions in antitrust cases must be public," Bork said in a statement. "Surely Mr. Gates is not suggesting he is above the law." Prior to Gates' deposition, attorneys for a group of media organizations, including The New York Times and The Seattle Times, filed motions to open Gates and other Microsoft officials' testimony to the media and the public. The court ruled against the so-called interveners. ... Bork added Microsoft's attorneys are trying to shield Bill Gates' deposition in an antitrust case.
